IFSTA App Among Top 20

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Essentials of Fire Fighting, 6th Edition Exam Prep Plus App created by the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) at Oklahoma State University, has ranked in the top 20 among all downloaded educational apps on the App Store and Google Play.

The Essentials Exam Prep Plus App provides users 1,497 multiple choice questions referenced to all 24 chapters of the Essentials of Fire Fighting text book. The easy to use app tracks and records user progress, provides immediate feedback and missed questions are added to a study deck to help users focus their learning. It is one of 10 IFSTA Apps.

On February 7, the IFSTA Essentials, 6th Edition Exam Prep Plus app ranked 18th in the educational market. There are more than 560,000 educational apps in the overall app market of 6.8 million. The two largest categories of app sales are gaming and business with educational apps following in third place and a total of over 100,000 apps are added to the app market every month.

“The app being ranked in the top 20 in the educational app market speaks well of our success in designing a very usable tool that helps students succeed,” said David Eller, IT Manager at Fire Protection Publications.
