Oklahoma State University Panhellenic Council honored

Friday, August 26, 2016

Award offers national recognition for outstanding efforts.

Oklahoma State University’s Panhellenic Council was recently recognized as one of the top scoring groups for achievement by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), one of the largest advocacy groups for women. The council was one of only 27 groups to receive the College Panhellenic Excellence Award from NPC, which includes organizations at more than 670 colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.

The award recognizes the success of OSU’s Panhellenic Council in upholding the values and ideals of college panhellenics, which are cooperatives comprised of all sororities on a campus. The excellence award is earned by meeting criteria, which includes recruitment, panhellenic structure, communication with NPC advisor, judicial procedures, as well as criteria especially valuable to campus, such as programming, academics and community impact and relations.

“The 2016 Panhellenic Council has made an incredible impact on the fraternity and sorority community,” said Ann Reightler, Fraternity & Sorority Affairs coordinator at OSU. “The executive officers have done an exceptional job updating policies, adapting programs and implementing new activities.  I cannot think of a more deserving College Panhellenic Association to be awarded this honor.”

The 2016 council included Hannah Faulkenberry, president, Mustang, Okla.; Amberly Carter, recruitment coordinator, Amarillo, Texas; Liz Coulson, vice president for programming, Flower Mound, Texas; Paige Hess, recruitment coordinator, Leawood, Kan.; Julia Sealock, vice president judicial affairs, Rockwall, Texas; Emma Stamps, vice president public relations, Nashville, Tenn.; Kerry Stark, recruitment coordinator, Duncan; Amy Weaver, vice president administration, Carrollton, Texas, and Lindy Wilkerson, vice president finance, Wichita, Kan.

OSU’s Panhellenic Council exists to develop and maintain sorority life and interfraternal relations, including programming efforts and leadership development. The council oversees 13 groups represented on the OSU campus. To learn more about OSU’s Panhellenic Council, visit gogreek.okstate.edu/panhellenic-council.
