Oklahoma State University preps for Up Close event

Oklahoma State University will provide bus transportation for high school juniors and seniors across Oklahoma and Gainesville, Texas, for its sixth annual Up Close event Monday, Nov. 2, in Stillwater. Students will get an in-depth look at the academic opportunities available to them at OSU while exploring campus and interacting with current students and faculty.

Students must register online at admissions.okstate.edu/upclose by Monday, Oct. 19. The cost of the event is $20 per person, and is non-refundable. Fee waivers for the event are available to students with ACT or SAT test fee waivers, and students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch plan. Students should contact their high school guidance counselor to apply for the event fee waiver.

OSU will provide bus transportation for the event from 17 locations including: Ardmore, Broken Arrow, Chickasha, Edmond, Elk City, Enid, Guthrie, Lawton, McAlester, Moore, Muskogee, Oklahoma City (two locations), Tulsa , Weatherford, Woodward and Gainesville, Texas.

During Up Close, students will visit a multitude of labs and studios, participate in mock lectures, tour housing options and more.

“It is valuable for future students to visit campus during the college selection process and we are happy to provide transportation so they can explore OSU without having to find a way to get to Stillwater,” said Director of Undergraduate Admissions Christine Crenshaw. “OSU Up Close is a unique day for prospective students to experience the energy of our campus while meeting with the faculty and staff they will work so closely with if they choose to make OSU their future home.”
