OSU surpasses 2014 United Way goal

Monday, December 15, 2014

Oklahoma State University has surpassed its $240,000 United Way Campaign goal. Donations are still being accepted and OSU is approaching the $250,000 mark.

The campus campaign, which started in September, is part of the larger Stillwater Area United Way’s annual effort, which hopes to raise a total of $900,000 to support its 24 partner agencies in Payne County.

Stephan Wilson, dean of the College of Human Sciences and this year’s OSU campaign chair, credited campaign coordinators and captains across campus as well as faculty, staff and students for helping OSU reach its goal.

“Once again OSU employees have stepped up and responded with generous hearts and pocketbooks,” Wilson said. “I am inspired by their philanthropy and grateful to be working with such wonderful people. I would like to acknowledge the special contributions of Jacque Lochmiller, Cathy Gardner, and all the captains and coordinators who are the real champions for all of us who believe in the United Way.”

He noted that several colleges and units also exceeded their goals and additional fundraising efforts are ongoing.

Although OSU has reached its goal, contributions will not be turned away. All donations can be delivered to Cathy Gardner in 207 Whitehurst.
