The Oklahoma State University campus will be bustling with students and visitors for the annual Spring Family Weekend and Mom’s Day April 8-9.

With a weekend filled with events and activities, students and families are sure to find ways to enjoy time together at OSU. To kick off the weekend festivities, guests are invited to the Allied Arts musical performance of ETHEL and Robert Mirabal Friday evening. The performance features timeless Native American traditions showcased through contemporary music artistry. Purchase tickets for this season finale at the Seretean Center Concert Hall April 8 at 8 p.m.

Saturday morning, the Student Government Association will host a Mom’s Day Tea. Breakfast and tea will be served on the Old Central Lawn April 9 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Free T-shirts will be presented to the first 150 moms who attend the tea. Then, stop by the OSU Museum of Art Family Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to view the museum and participate in hands-on art activities.

After lunch, students and families are encouraged to come out to support Cowboy Baseball and Cowgirl Softball. Cowboy Baseball takes on Texas Tech at 3 p.m., and Cowgirl Softball takes on Iowa State at 2 p.m. Five dollar discounted tickets are available for both events by visiting okstate.com/tickets and using the promo code CPWEEKEND at checkout.

To conclude the weekend, watch the musical and theatrical student performances at Spring Sing. Spring Sing showcases fraternity and sorority groups paired in choral-style productions with unique story lines. Acts are judged on musicality, theme originality, costumes and choreography.  Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the show begins at 5:30 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena.  Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 at okstate.showclix.com or for $12 the evening of the performance at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Cowboy Parents began in 2005 and supports parents of OSU students by providing information about the college experience. The organization supports programs around campus such as Family Weekends and scholarships. Cowboy Parents also answers basic questions and address concerns of OSU parents, while their student is in college. Since its conception, Cowboy Parents has honored 83 students with scholarships totaling almost $64,000.
