Reflecting on their time in the College of Arts and Sciences, some of the 2024-25 Outstanding Seniors shared how CAS shaped their university experience.

“CAS has shaped me into an ideal graduate by housing the degree that has greatly prepared me for admission into medical school: microbiology. Thanks to this department, I have met and learned from outstanding professors in the classroom and lab, worked toward affording my degree thanks to scholarship support, and have had the opportunity to complete research and attend conferences to gain a foundational understanding of science.” —Sarah Teeman

“CAS has equipped me with skills and resources to know how to learn effectively. These abilities not only led to my graduation but prepared me for my future of being a lifelong learner.” —Gracie Faver

“CAS has been my home for the past four years. There’s not only one thing that shapes someone into an ideal graduate. It’s a combination of wonderful factors.  My professors, mentors and colleagues have set wonderful examples of being a leader while being empathetic and kind. Their values and ideals have taught me something new each day and pushed me into becoming someone better and more prepared for the real world.” —Luisa Clausen

“CAS has shaped me into an ideal graduate in every way possible. From the research opportunities to the incredible faculty and staff, the resources available in CAS are unbeatable! I owe much of my success to CAS and the Department of Microbiology specifically, so I will always be a proud representative of our college.” —Emma England

“Throughout my time at OSU, the College of Arts and Sciences has provided me with so many opportunities to become a more well-rounded student and person. The wide variety of classes I’ve taken, the research opportunities I’ve had and the relationships I’ve developed with faculty have contributed to my personal growth and given me a solid foundation to stand on as I continue my education in graduate school.” —Ashlyn Goad

“CAS and the Greenwood School of Music are staffed with world-class faculty who push me every day. The training I received here as both a trombonist and composer gave me opportunities to perform original music in New York City, Argentina and Chile as an ambassador of OSU. The experience I have gained as a student of CAS and the GSM will allow me to confidently succeed and thrive as I enter my professional career.” —Ethan Do

"CAS has given me the resources and community to turn my determination into real impact — whether through research, leadership or global experiences. From providing me with the opportunity to study abroad through the Bailey Scholarship to encouraging me to pursue the opportunities my research has led me to, CAS has shaped me into a scholar and leader ready to make a difference." —Kylie Hammack

A private reception honoring the Outstanding Seniors will be held April 8 at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater.
