Chesapeake Energy will host 2019 OSU Leadership Development Certificate Series

Chesapeake Energy is collaborating with the OSU Spears School of Business to host the 2019 OSU Leadership Development Certificate Series for business leaders in the Oklahoma City area. The 2019 series will include four seminars open to the public on Jan. 22, April 16, Aug. 27 and Nov. 5 at Chesapeake Energy Corporation in Oklahoma City.

“Chesapeake Energy is excited to continue to partner with Oklahoma State University to bring these programs to our business community,” said Tom Massey, Talent Management and Leadership Development at Chesapeake Energy. “The OSU faculty provide relevant and applicable information to help prepare, motivate and build business leaders in Oklahoma.”

The four seminars, offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (selected sessions are half-day morning and half-day afternoon sessions), are instructed by faculty or clinical instructors/adjunct professors Spears Business.

  • Jan. 22, Creating and Developing High Performance Teams, Dr. Raj Basu, associate professor of management;
  • April 16, Growth Mindset: The Key to Strategic Development (9 a.m.-noon), Abbey Davis, director of the Eastin Center for Career Readiness, and Persuasive Communication: Skills for Navigating the Workplace, James Stapp, lecturer of business communication (1-4 p.m.);
  • Aug. 27, Crafting Authentic Identities: Understanding and Appreciating our Differences (9 a.m.-noon), Dr. Lex Smith Washington, assistant professor of management, and Accountability at Work: How to Eliminate Mediocrity and Increase Productivity (1-4 p.m.), Kyle Eastham, lecturer in the School of Entrepreneurship;
  • Nov. 5, Strategic Thinking: Leading Innovation (9 a.m.-noon) and Value Creation and Ethics Awareness: Character and Culture (1-4 p.m.), Andrew Urich, associate professor of management and director of student development for the Eastin Center for Career Readiness.

Registration for the series is $1,260 per person; registration for groups of three or more for the series is $1,190. Certificates and/or CEU credit is available on the completion of the seven sessions. To register or for more information, call 405-744-5208 or visit cepd.okstate.edu.
