Master in Business Analytics student Navjot Kaur was invited to the Teradata 2019 Analytics Challenge on Oct. 20-24 in Denver. Kaur’s poster titled “Anticipating Cryptocurrency Price Trends” received honorable mention recognition.

“I was overwhelmed to hear appreciations from the industry’s brightest thinkers,” she said. “Some of them found the topic very interesting and shared their ideas to advance my research to the next level. I learned about new ideas for further research.”

Kaur said the Teradata Analytics Universe Conference is one of the best data analytics conferences in the world for enhancing professional and personal skills. She was able to speak with students from Thailand, Malaysia, Canada, Germany and across the United States.

“I am delighted with Navjot's performance and winning an honorable mention in this prestigious event,” said Dr. Goutam Chakraborty, SAS professor of marketing analytics and director of the MSBAN program at Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business.

This is the first time OSU MSBAN students participated in this global conference.

“I heard many great speakers at the conference and met face-to-face with sponsors,” Kaur said. “I learned about new technologies and software in the field of analytics and the challenges of next-generation analytics.”

The Teradata Analytics Universe Conference provided sessions about innovations in analytics like Teradata Vantage, machine learning, artificial intelligence and other powerful analytics tools.

“I feel honored to get a chance to present my work at the conference,” Kaur said. “I interacted with brilliant minds from the world and got appreciations for my work. Some of them shared their ideas to further my research for next time.”
