The Department of Management in the Spears School of Business was once again ranked in the top 20 for research productivity in the United States.

In 2022, Spears Business management research faculty is 20th overall in the nation and 26th globally for overall productivity in the Texas A&M/University of Georgia (TAMUGA) rankings of Management Department Research Productivity. The rankings tabulate data from the top eight journals in the field of management. The Department of Management has been ranked as high as 12th in the U.S. in previous years and has consistently ranked in the upper echelon of land-grant universities.

“Our faculty are extremely proud to be recognized as an elite research team and we have long emphasized building a national reputation,” said Dr. James Pappas, head of the Department of Management. “The ranking really reflects the hard work and long hours that are required to achieve such ranking.”

In addition, the OSU Management faculty was 26th overall for productivity over the last five years (2018 to 2022). During that time, the department published more than 25 articles in the top four journals in the field.

“We are incredibly grateful for the long-term stewardship of Dean Ken Eastman and Vice Dean Ramesh Sharda for their steadfast investments in scholarship,” Pappas said. “As a colleague, I am humbled and honored to work with faculty who are continuously motivated to pursue cutting-edge research that informs students and businesses.”
