Oklahoma State University senior Isabel Nunes was recognized as the Delta Sigma Pi Regional Collegian of the Year at the organization’s South Central Provincial Conference on March 8.

“Winning Regional Collegian of the Year is an honor and a reminder of how much Delta Sigma Pi has shaped me,” Nunes said. “Balancing work, school and leadership hasn’t always been easy, but this award proves that resilience and passion pay off. More than anything, it’s a testament to the incredible community and values that make our brotherhood so special. I am proud of my brothers, and I am proud to be a Delta Sigma Pi.”

Nunes plans to graduate in May with her bachelor’s degree in management and information systems before pursuing her Master of Business Analytics and Data Science (MS BAnDS) in the fall.

In addition to being a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Nunes is also active in the Spears School of Business and across the OSU campus. She is a member of the Business Analytics Student Association, Data Analytics Club, Latino Student Business Association, Humane Society Volunteer, Active Minds and GLAS (Graduate Leadership Association of Spears).

Delta Sigma Pi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that has a goal of developing principled business leaders. Their Collegian of the Year award was established more than 50 years ago to recognize outstanding collegiate members of Delta Sigma Pi who have exemplified the values and ideals of the fraternity.

The award is presented on the regional, provincial and national levels based on multiple criteria, including inter-chapter fraternity events, degree of leadership exhibited in Delta Sigma Pi, scholastic aptitude and more. Nunes is one of 32 regional winners of the award and is now eligible for national honors.

Spears Business is ranked among the nation’s top land-grant business colleges thanks to its motto, the Power of Personal. Nowhere is that maxim more evident than the business analytics and data science programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. With nationally recognized scholars and committed, innovative instructors, the MS BAnDS program was recently ranked No. 2 in the country behind only Harvard University by Fortune.com.
