OSU Veterinary Center Training National Guard for deployment to Afghanistan

The Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences provided a one-day crash course in equine veterinary medicine and a parasitology lab on sheep and goats for the Army National Guard on July 28. The Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers pictured are taking turns finding a horse's pulse.
Among the attendees were 1997 OSU College of Veterinary Medicine graduate, Dr. Garry Dorsey. Topics covered included horse handling and restraint, bandaging, equine parasites and parasite control, foreign horse diseases in Afghanistan and more. The troops are preparing to be deployed to Afghanistan.
