Alum wins gold in paracycling

OSU alumna Cassie Mitchell recently earned two championship gold medals at the 2011 Paracycling World Championships in Roskilde, Denmark, in the Women’s H1 (quadriplegic division) Individual Time Trial and Road Race. The time trial was a 10-mile sprint and the road race was a 30-mile circuit. The course took athletes through rural areas as well as the inner city. More than 400 athletes participated from 61 countries. Mitchell is on the research faculty in biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech. For a video interview after the race, click here.
