The Oklahoma State University/A&M Board of Regents today selected an architect and a construction manager for the design and construction of the Performing Arts Center and possible renovation of the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts on the OSU-Stillwater campus. Beck Design of Tulsa was selected as the architect for the project and Manhattan Construction Company of Oklahoma City was selected as the construction manager. “Taking another step toward a new performing arts center on our campus is very exciting,” said Peter Sherwood, Dean of the OSU College of Arts and Sciences. “Our music and theater departments have many achievements and have so much to contribute to OSU and the surrounding Stillwater community and the state.” The Departments of Music and Theater are both housed in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. Built in the 1970’s, the Concert Hall is actually a renovation of a 1912 auditorium. The building has become inadequate for the current and future needs of the two departments. The construction of the new Performing Arts Center and possible renovation of the Seretean Center will be funded primarily through private donations. |
