2012 “Messiah” – call for faculty and staff singers
Faculty and staff volunteers are invited to join in this year’s performance of Handel’s “Messiah” set for Saturday, Dec. 1. The first of five rehearsals for the event is this Sunday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. Please email zrandall.stroope@okstate.edu for an informational sheet, no audition is required.
Many OSU faculty joined the large chorus of Handel's "Messiah" last year and faculty and staff volunteers are invited again this year, according to Z. Randall Stroope, conductor, who notes the 2011 performance was sold out several days in advance. "With just five efficient rehearsals, faculty love to be a part of it, even if they haven't sung the choruses for a long time," said Stoope, who invites volunteers to help rekindle a tradition that unites a common spirit between people and gives pause for reflection and appreciation.
