OSU students, fans, and alumni are called on to wear orange this Friday

On Friday, August 31, show your school spirit by wearing anything orange - and we mean anything: hats, earrings, T-shirts, ties, watches or something that shows support for Pistol Pete.
Be sure to make a stop by the University Store at the OSU Student Union for all of your College Colors Day merchandising needs.
Think of College Colors Day as an excuse to throw a preseason tailgate party, have a friendly inter-office competition between rival schools for the upcoming season, or just a reason to support the team that has brought you excitement over the years. No matter what the reason, be sure to celebrate this national holiday with America’s 173 million college football fans and, wear orange wherever you are, on Friday, August 31.
College Colors Day, which is organized by The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG College, celebrates the kick-off of the college football season and promotes higher education – celebrating the achievements of colleges and universities by putting the spirit and traditions of the college experience at the center of national attention.
This year, College Colors Day is bigger than ever: with 200 universities, the NCAA, and thousands of stores representing the nation’s top retailers participating. Indeed, on August 31st, College Colors Day will be hard to miss.
There are several ways college fans can get involved including:
- OSU Sponsored Giveaways – Oklahoma State University will be giving away a signed football by Head Football Coach Mike Gundy and other great prizes on our Facebook page. Be sure to wear your orange on Friday and go to http://okstate.edu/facebook on 8 a.m. Friday to learn how to win!
- Corporate Tailgate Sweepstakes– Companies that register online at collegecolorsday.com to participate will be automatically registered for a chance to win a $500 gift card towards an office tailgate party.
- Classroom Sweepstakes–Teachers who register their classroom or school to participate in College Colors Day will be automatically entered to win a $500 gift card. Two $250 American Express gift cards will be given to the runners-up in the drawing.
- Fan Photo Contest on Facebook– College fans who submit a photo to facebook.com/collegecolorsday will be entered to win weekly American Express gift cards. Grand prize winners will also be selected.
