Regents select construction manager for new residence hall on Stillwater campus
Friday, October 26, 2012
The OSU/A&M Board of Regents today selected a construction manager for the design and construction of a new residence hall on the OSU-Stillwater campus.
Flintco of Tulsa was selected to design and construct the new facility, which will provide accommodations for 800 – 900 students.
This new residence hall will compensate for the future loss of 1,100 hundred beds with the demolition of Kerr-Drummond Hall. The decision was made to demolish the 12-story, two-tower complex, built in the 1960’s, following a review of the facility. Kerr-Drummond will not be demolished until the new residence hall is completed.
In addition to the new residence hall, some realignment of the existing residential life facilities will be made to compensate for the number of spaces lost with the taking down of Kerr-Drummond.
The new residence hall will be located in the northwest area of campus, near or in the space where Droke Track and Field Center is located on Hall of Fame. A new track facility is scheduled for construction within the OSU Athletic Village in the near future.
