Series expands on current exhibit

Free film series starts Thursday

The Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History is presenting a series of three Chinese films as part of the continued programming to accompany CHINA: Lost/Found, Photography by Ka Chuen Yeung, on view in the Gardiner Gallery until Sept. 27.

The first, Beijing Bicycle by Wang Xiaoshuai (2001, 113 minutes), presents a glimpse of the tension in an increasingly polarized Chinese society, which has recently struggled to receive an influx of unskilled rural laborers.

This film will be shown in Classroom Building 101 at 7 pm on Sept. 5. Beverages and snacks provided. Free and open to the public.
