Statement from Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis regarding the state
of Oklahoma not being selected as one of six Federal Aviation Administration test
sites for unmanned aerial vehicles:
“While we are certainly disappointed that Oklahoma was not selected as one of the
six Federal Aviation Administration’s test sites, our commitment at Oklahoma State
University to develop solutions and practical programs to support the advancement
of this emerging industry is as strong as ever. Oklahoma will continue to be at
the forefront of this innovative opportunity through active research and testing programs
at Oklahoma State, University Multispectral Laboratories and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
flight center. Through our well recognized aviation and aerospace programs at Oklahoma
State, we will supply the industry with the bright engineering and scientific talent
required to grow this industry in the coming decades.”
