C-SPAN bus coming to OSU Tuesday

Tour the C-SPAN bus on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. - noon.

The C-SPAN bus is coming to the Oklahoma State University campus Tuesday, Feb. 11, to open its doors to students from 10:30 a.m. – noon at S. Hester St. and Morrill Ave., (on the east side of the Classroom Building, north of the Student Union) for a tour that highlights the network’s political resources and mobile video production facilities.

Go to C-SPAN earlier the same morning to watch a live broadcast from the bus featuring OSU Aerospace Engineering Professor Jamey Jacob at 8:15 a.m. when he will participate in C-SPAN’s flagship morning program,Washington Journal.

Currently on a winter tour of Big 12 Conference schools, the C-SPAN bus features touch-screen quizzes and mobile devices that promote the political programming on the three branches of government that C-SPAN offers. The bus is equipped with HD cameras and production equipment used to produce public affairs programming.

Now in its 21st year on the road, the bus is also informing communities about C-SPAN’s ongoing public affairs series First Ladies, which airs Mondays at 8 p.m. For more information on the series, visit c-span.org/firstladies. 

As of March 2014, C-SPAN will have aired 35 years of complete coverage of the House of Representatives.

Tune in to C-SPAN’s public affairs programming on the C-SPAN Networks, C-SPAN Radio, and c-span.org. In Stillwater, C-SPAN can be seen on channel 14; and C-SPAN2 on channel 96. This bus visit and event is in local partnership with Suddenlink Cable.
