The auditorium, at 7th and Duncan Street in Stillwater, provides an intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics. A reception will follow each concert and donations from the public are gratefully accepted.

Appassionata Viola & Harp Duo

Free series starts July 11

The series starts Friday, July 11, with a performance by the Appassionata Viola & Harp Duo. Established in the spring of 2010 by Tulsa Symphony Orchestra musicians Jeff Cowen and Jill Wiebe, Appassionata has quickly become one of Tulsa's most sought-after duos.

Morgan

The band Morgan will be featured on July 18. Named after its award-winning lead vocalist, Morgan Reynolds, who has a degree in vocal performance from OSU, the band includes lead guitarist Victor Denny, and Chris Firey on bass.

Trio Aleszky

Tulsa's Trio Aleszky , which regularly performs with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, will take the stage July 25.  The group features professional musicians  Allyson Eskitch, piano; Paulo Eskitch, violin, and Lou Lynch, cello.

Edgar Cruz

Oklahoma’s famous guitarist Edgar Cruz will likely pack the house again this year  when he brings his incredible live repertoire of greatest hits for the guitar on August 1.

Twelve Tone

Stillwater’s Twelve Tone will conclude the season August 8 with popular music in an a cappella style that is completely student-led and arranged. Several members are vocal music majors at OSU

The annual summer series is presented by the Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History with assistance from the Oklahoma Arts Council.  "We are so pleased to continue to produce the Cool Classics, which has become a summer tradition that has grown in popularity over the last several years. The Cool Classics concerts are an excellent example of the kind of programming, from music and culture – to history and education, that the Sheerar Center hosts in the auditorium," said Ammie Bryant, museum director.

The Sheerar Cultural and Heritage Center is located at the corner of 7th and Duncan Streets.  Museum hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday 11am-5pm and  Saturdays and Sundays 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.  For more information about the Cool Classics or the Museum and any other upcoming events or exhibits, please call 405-377-0359 or visit the Museum’s website at www.sheerarmuseum.org.  The Sheerar Museum of Stillwater History can also be found on Facebook and Twitter where staff regularly post updates on happenings at the Museum.
