Oklahoma gubernatorial candidate Joe Dorman to speak to OSU political science class

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Oklahoma democratic gubernatorial candidate Joe Dorman will visit the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater on Tuesday, April 15 at 4 p.m. to speak with Dr. Jim Davis’ “Introduction to American Government” and “Political Campaigns and Candidacy” classes.

Dorman is expected to discuss various campaign strategies with the students and will highlight the difference between retail politics and big budget media campaigning.  He will touch on the differences between campaigning for local office like the State House of Representatives versus campaigning for a statewide office.

“The event is a wonderful opportunity for me to learn about the art of campaigning from someone who not only has experience in the field, but is currently running for Governor of Oklahoma,” OSU student Derek Wietelman said.

The lecture, which will take place inside 035 Murray Hall, will be followed by question-and-answer session.
