International students to host a day of multi-cultural food and learning

Enjoy authentic cuisine from around the world at the annual International Bazaar on Saturday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Wes Watkins Center at Oklahoma State University. Admission is free, and food purchases can be made with cash or by bursar charge.

“We would like to invite OSU students and the Stillwater community to attend the event to taste various cuisines, especially home cooked food that they can't buy from local restaurants,” said Desmond Pow, president of the International Student Organization at OSU, which coordinates the bazaar.

Participants are invited to taste favored cultural cuisines while gaining a better education about the various cultures represented at OSU, explained Pow. Twenty different area clubs will also compete in a dessert competition at the event.  A themed photo booth will be available to help capture memories.

Prior to the event, ISO will sponsor a photo competition. To participate, individuals must snap a picture with an International Bazaar flier and post it to Facebook tagging it #foodislove. The winner will receive a $5 credit to use at the event.

The International Student Organization is an umbrella organization for 20 area clubs, representing 20 cultures from around the world. ISO also represents more than 1,700 international students and scholars from more than 100 countries. The organization is open to all international students attending OSU or any American students who are interested in international culture and diversity. ISO fosters cooperation among international students at the university and promotes social and culture exchange between students and the community.
