Meet the Ombuds Officer

Kenneth Bartels, professor emeritus in the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences,
is the university’s ombuds officer. He is available to listen to concerns about a
dispute or conflict involving students, faculty and staff, and assist parties in mediating
a mutually agreeable resolution, if reasonably possible.
A native of Iowa, Bartels came to OSU in 1982 and served as professor of veterinary
clinical sciences, McCasland Professor of Laser Surgery and Kerr Foundation Chair
for Biomedical Laser and Biophotonics Research. He retired in June of 2015.
