OSU offers musical options

Two free faculty recitals and the annual Kaleidoscope of Choirs performance at Oklahoma State University will offer musical options for everyone Saturday through Monday.

Dr. Ryan Gardner will perform on trumpet and Pi-Ju Chang on the piano as part of a free recital series featuring members of the music faculty on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center Concert Hall.

The annual Kaleidoscope of Choirs is set for Sunday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center with performances from the OSU Concert Chorale, University Singers, Chamber Choir, Cantamus, and Statesmen, under the direction of Drs. Z Randall Stroope and Christopher Haygood. Two selections from Latvian composer Erik Esenvalds will be among the selections performed. Esenvalds is coming to OSU for a guest residency in October. Tickets are $8 general admission and $6 for students and senior citizens and available in the box office one hour before the performance.

The free Faculty Recital Series continues on Monday as April Golliver-Mohiuddin, mezzo-soprano, and Babette Belter, clarinet, offer selections for the obbligato clarinet, accompanied by  Pi-Ju Chang on the piano and Virginia Broffit Kunzer on the flute, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Seretean Center Concert Hall. The concert will also be performed at the University of Arkansas and Wichita State University in the months to come.
