Service clubs and volunteer opportunities showcased

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Oklahoma State University students interested in local service clubs and volunteer opportunities this spring are invited to stop by Starlight Terrace on the fourth floor of the Student Union anytime from 1 – 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, to preview options available in the Stillwater community. No event registration is necessary.

The 2015 Spring Service-Activity Preview, co-hosted by Citizen Students and the OSU Service-Learning Center, gives students a chance to learn about and sign up for service activities to participate in during the spring semester.

“The preview is a great opportunity for students to explore service opportunities all in one place and from people who truly know the organization,” said Joyce Montgomery, Service-Learning Volunteer Center coordinator.

Community speakers from the Oklahoma WONDERtorium, TBI Raiders and MICAH programs will be on hand to share information about ways students can become involved.

Since its inception in 1984, the Service-Learning Volunteer Center has promoted leadership for OSU students by offering interactive and meaningful service-learning activities, providing research opportunities and connecting with society to promote the general welfare of its citizens.
