Oklahoma State University and the City of Stillwater Prepare for OSU Homecoming Parade
Friday, October 21, 2016
Monday, Oct. 24 is the year anniversary of the tragic parade crash that killed four people and injured more than 40 others.
Victims, survivors and first responders will be recognized during the 2016 Sea of Orange Parade scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29.
First responders will serve as grand marshals of the homecoming parade. The four killed: Marvin and Bonnie Stone, Nikita Nakal and Nash Lucas will be honored in the parade by three horses and one pony with backwards facing boots and flowers.
Survivors of the crash will be riding in the parade and located in special VIP seating. They also will attend Saturday’s 11 a.m. football game at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Because of last year’s tragic events the City of Stillwater has revised its safety plan. More details about parade security can be found here: http://stillwater.org/city_s_public_safety_team_ready_for_osu_homecoming.php.
Additional information about the 2015 parade victims and this year’s 2016 Sea of Orange Parade can be found on the online memorial: https://go.okstate.edu/parade-memorial.
