As the semester is in full swing, students begin to research options for renting and signing leases for the upcoming school year. The Off-Campus Student Association is here to help as it hosts its annual Renter’s Fair Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The public event offers attendees an opportunity to receive information about various rental properties in the Stillwater community.

Since 1978, Renter’s Fair has provided resources for students who choose to live off-campus. This year’s Renter’s Fair allows students to meet with representatives from off-campus housing, the City of Stillwater, Legal Aid Services and various service providers. Approximately 20 to 25 landlords and property management companies will also be represented.

This year, the event is themed “Game of Homes” to enhance the fun of the event’s attendees. Participants will also have an opportunity to win an awesome prize, a Kindle Fire Tablet HD, just by visiting with at least three booths.

“Renter’s Fair offers students the opportunity to shop for a home in Stillwater in one convenient location,” Marie Basler, Non-Traditional Student Services coordinator, said. “The internet is a great place to start, but nothing compares to speaking directly with the manager or landlord of a property and taking the time to ask the questions that will help you avoid problems in the future.”

Off-Campus Student Association is always available to answer questions about leases, landlords, living off campus for the first time or finding rental properties. The organization can also help students review their leases and decipher important details.

Off-Campus Student Association is an organization for students who attend Oklahoma State University and live in a residence off the campus.  It offers renting/leasing information for all students while members contribute recommendations to better the environment around the city of Stillwater and the OSU campus.
