Friday, March 11, 2016

Fall campus

The Oklahoma State University Student Government Association recognized four Campus Life groups as Organizations of the Month for Marchfor their leadership and dedication to the student body.

Winners of the March awards were Chi Alpha, religious category; Pi Sigma Alpha, Honor Society category; African Student organization, international category; and Society of Women Engineers, major category. Entries were not received for the service, sports, or special interest categories.

Ezequiel Madrigal, vice-chair of the committee on student organizations, believes it is important to recognize the student organizations that excel and encourage others to grow.

“We have over 492 different organizations on our campus, and we felt we should recognize outstanding student organizations,” Madrigal said. “We also want to help promote them so more students can hear about them and potentially get involved.”

Winning organizations will receive a press release or OState TV feature, recognition at the President’s Leadership Reception in April, a banner on the front page of CampusLink and an article in the CampusLink news feed.

Applications for the April awards are due by March 28. Visit sga.okstate.edu/applications to apply. For questions, contact Ezequiel Madrigal at ezequiel.madrigal@okstate.edu.
