OSU celebrating Native American Heritage Month

A series of events are planned to celebrate Native American Heritage Month on the Oklahoma State University campus.

OSU’s Center for Sovereign Nations and the Native American Student Association invite everyone to celebrate and learn more about the 39 federally recognized tribal nations in Oklahoma.

Nov. 7
Inaugural Native American Culture Night (in partnership with the Student Union Activities Board)
Come learn about Native American dancing, beadwork, drum circles and more.
Student Union Starlight Terrace, 7 p.m.

Nov. 8
Alpha Pi Omega Hand Game at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa
Join the women of Alpha Pi Omega as they lead a social intercollegiate hand game.
Renfro Center, NOC-Tonkawa, 6 p.m.

Nov. 11
Alpha Pi Omega Social Stickball Game
Life Sciences East Lawn, 5:30 p.m.

Nov. 13
Sovereignty Speaks #31: Indian Land Titles
Featuring Katheleen R. Guzman, Esq., interim dean of the College of Law at the University of Oklahoma.
OSU Student Union, 12 noon. Registration has been extended through Nov. 10. RSVP here.

Native American Student Association General Meeting
Center for Sovereign Nations (105 Life Sciences East), 6:30 p.m.

Rock Your Mocs
Rock your moccasins on campus all day and meet at the OSU library fountain at noon for a group photo.

Honoring Byron Bighorse of the Osage Nation, chief executive officer of Osage Casinos.

OSU Nike N7 Basketball Game
Come cheer on the Cowboys as they take on the Yale Bulldogs in a special N7 game to celebrate Native American Heritage Month.
