Effective July 1, Oklahoma State University is moving forward with one primary institutional logo that will be used across all university campuses, colleges, departments and athletic teams.
“We are pleased to unveil a single logo that we believe will build an even stronger brand identity for Oklahoma State University,” President Burns Hargis said. “The new logo will connect and motivate our many stakeholder groups.”
Extensive market research was used to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the various logos used by OSU. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, fans and the general public were also surveyed.
The research found the OSU “brand” logo, which is an updated version of the logo previously used by athletics, has the most audience recognition, prominence in the marketplace and is the strongest logo design among all current marks.
Pistol Pete, the university’s beloved mascot, remains a favorite logo and will continue to be used in marketing materials.
Those needing the new logo, including members of the media, can submit a logo request form.
