New street signs around Oklahoma State University’s Stillwater campus are continuing the university’s initiative to expand its brand recognition.
The crisp design features the street name on a white background, with the university logo in “America’s Brightest Orange” on a black background to the side of the street name.
In 2019, OSU launched a rebranding effort that was the culmination of more than a year’s worth of strategic planning and market research that included survey data from more than 5,000 respondents, market research on existing OSU logos, a design analysis of OSU’s logos and more. From this, the “brand logo” was born, unifying the university under one beloved logo.
The Facilities Management Sign Shop created the new signs with approval from the campus architect and Brand Management. Small street name signs are all installed, and work is nearly complete for the large street signs.
Ron Tarbutton, director of Facilities Management, is pleased with the project.
“These new street signs have the new OSU brand logo to help unify the look and pride for the OSU campus,” Tarbutton said. “We also want to give thanks to the City of Stillwater for allowing OSU to place the large streets on their traffic light poles. They were wonderful to work with.”
