Oklahoma State University’s Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory has again earned accreditation from The American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians Accreditation Committee.
The accreditation involves a comprehensive laboratory inspection and accreditation program encompassing all laboratory disciplines. It is conducted as a peer-review process, with inspections performed by experienced professionals trained in auditing techniques specific to the AAVLD accreditation requirements.
OADDL has maintained full accreditation since 1979 with the newest accreditation valid until the end of 2029.
According to Dr. Jerry Saliki, OADDL director, since its first accreditation, the number of tests conducted has grown from 11,000 in 1978, with service to primarily Oklahoma veterinarians and owners, to 185,000 requests in 2023, with service to veterinarians and owners in 44 states.
“OADDL’s achievement and maintenance of AAVLD accreditation demonstrates our commitment to adhering to documented processes and quality controls that conform to ISO-based international standards,” Saliki said. “This dedication inherently contributes to our services' high quality, reliability and consistency. We are committed to continuously improving our services to maintain accreditation and ensure ongoing satisfaction for our private, state and federal stakeholders.”
