Oklahoma State University’s Student Volunteer Center kicked off its annual Angel Tree fundraiser Wednesday in the Student Union.
The Angel Tree program helps underprivileged children around the Stillwater area by providing gifts to open during the holiday season.
Christmas trees are set up in the Student Union near room 232, where anyone is welcome to select an angel after reading the individual's three Christmas wishes and a few facts about them to help select a gift.
The Student Volunteer Center provides opportunities like the Angel Tree program so students, faculty and staff can give back to the community. Coordinator Haley Osiek encourages anyone in the OSU family to come and select an angel before they run out.
“The Student Volunteer Center hosts the Angel Tree program as part of its commitment to community engagement and service, fostering a culture of care and generosity among students, faculty and staff,” Osiek said. “The Angel Tree program allows individuals to give back to the Stillwater community and OSU family, particularly to children, during the holiday season.”
Participants this year can return the unwrapped gifts and their angel tag to the Leadership and Campus Life info desk in room 211 in the Student Union by Dec. 11 before 5 p.m..
