Oklahoma State University hosted the first Cowboys Care Resource Fair on Wednesday, drawing students, faculty and staff for an afternoon focused on wellness and support.

The event was hosted in the Orange Grove between the Business and Classroom buildings.

The fair — a partnership between 1 is 2 Many, the Department of Wellness and OSU Basic Needs — showcased campus and community resources tied to mental and physical health, sexual violence prevention, safety and essential needs.

Organizers said the goal was to highlight the broad range of services available to the Cowboy family while underscoring OSU’s commitment to student well-being.

“Resources are so important, especially things like the mental health and financial planning coaches,” said Nicole Ewing, a sophomore. “It can be overwhelming whenever you come to college, so having events like these where students can learn what’s offered is really helpful.”

For Ewing, the chance to speak directly with representatives made a difference. She said she was glad to discover Pete’s Pantry, a Student Union program that offers affordable food options for students who may find it difficult to shop off campus.

Addi Roberts, another attendee, said the fair provided insight into resources she had not known were available.

“I think events like this are important for students because it shows them the resources that are available to them on campus, especially for student health,” Roberts said. “I learned about Pete’s Pantry for students who may have food insecurity and about medical clinics in Stillwater outside of University Health Services.”

Cowboys Care launched earlier this year under the leadership of First Cowgirl Angela Hess as part of a wider mental health initiative at OSU. The resource fair builds on that effort by connecting students directly with support networks in one place.

University leaders said the event will continue to grow as a way to ensure students know they are supported inside and outside the classroom.
