Scott Schlotthauer has been named associate vice president and chief procurement officer for Oklahoma State University.

Schlotthauer rejoins OSU after serving as associate vice president and chief procurement officer at the University of Oklahoma. Previously, he served OSU as chief procurement officer for 10 years and, prior to that, as the purchasing director for the State of Oklahoma for five years.

Schlotthauer brings 21 years of extensive experience in the corporate industry through his work with companies like Gerber, Lopez Foods and ConAgra Foods.

“OSU procurement has a strong track record of performance in adding value, compliance and enhancing efficiency,” Schlotthauer said. “I look forward to rejoining a great team and facilitating the process of continuous improvement.

“I believe the OSU and A&M System centralization of procurement services and the consolidated financial platform is a competitive advantage that will enable the five Oklahoma land-grant colleges and universities to thrive into the future.”

In this role, Schlotthauer will oversee procurement for all institutions governed by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, lead efforts to streamline purchasing and ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness. He will also provide leadership to the procurement department, advise on procurement matters, and support faculty and staff through training and outreach.

Schlotthauer will report to newly appointed senior vice president and chief financial/administrative officer Chris Kuwitzky.

“We are excited to welcome him back to the team here at OSU,” Kuwitzky said. “We wished him well when he left, but he brings with him a wealth of institutional knowledge and a deep understanding of our culture, values and mission.”

With deep roots in Okeene, Oklahoma, Schlotthauer earned his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics with a minor in marketing and business from OSU in 1986.

“I am truly excited for the opportunity to return to OSU,” Schlotthauer said. “I have always appreciated the vibrant energy and enthusiasm our students bring to campus life. It’s both inspiring and invigorating. The strong sense of school spirit is something I deeply value and enjoy being a part of. And, of course, orange has always been my favorite color.”
