OSU O.I.L. students continue to lead the way in Oklahoma

All debates have stopped. The last-minute negotiations come to a close. Laptops are being put away. The latest session of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature (O.I.L.) that took place in the halls of the Oklahoma State Capitol is officially over.
And the Oklahoma State University team? It is walking away named the Best Overall Delegation among all participating Oklahoma universities and colleges, including the University of Oklahoma and Oral Roberts University.
Mastering the Legislature:
O.I.L. is a student-run mock government that replicates all three branches of the Oklahoma state government.
This program provides university students across Oklahoma with the opportunity to write, debate and pass legislation about issues they feel are important. It provides hands-on experience for skills not only related to government, but also real-world advocacy and issues.
The OSU O.I.L. team falls under the Student Government Association umbrella, allowing it the resources and guidance needed to be successful.

The OSU team not only received recognition collectively, but individual team members also earned special recognition for their work during the session:

This is not the OSU team's first time to be named Best Overall Delegation. It’s actually the sixth time to earn this distinction over the last six O.I.L. sessions. All individual and team awards are determined by a vote among participating peers, highlighting the trust and leadership earned by the OSU delegation.
“The OSU students involved in O.I.L. embody what it means to attend a Land-Grant institution,” said Dr. Johnny Robinson, director of student involvement. “Students can take the knowledge gained and apply it directly for the service of others and the public good. Their work is a practical demonstration of the Cowboy Code in action, specifically highlighting the principles of responsibility and integrity as they build a skill set to carry them into the future.”
As the team looks forward to the spring session, they encourage students interested in policy, law, or advocacy or looking to build a skill set they can apply across a variety of careers, to consider joining the delegation.
