Formal gardens outside of the Student Union

OSU veterans and their families now have the option to schedule private appointments with a designated professional counselor on campus on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the basement of the Student Union, Suite 040, across from the barbershop.

Diana Wall, a licensed marriage and family therapist from the Vet Center in Tulsa, will be scheduling appointments. She is also nationally certified as a rehabilitation counselor and has served in the Veterans Administration since 2014 with an additional 19 years of experience in the human services field in Texas, Oklahoma and North Carolina in various roles as psychotherapist/counselor, case manager, manager and instructor.

An agreement with the Tulsa Vet Center and the new office of Veteran Student Academic Services at OSU has made possible Wall’s weekly visits, according to Richard Hansen, coordinator.

“Previously, our veterans were required to travel to Oklahoma City or Tulsa for the services Diana will provide. We’re hopeful this effort will ease the travel burden and result in more individuals taking advantage of the service while making it easier for others to continue to receive the counseling they need,” said Hansen.

The services provided will include individual readjustment counseling, group meetings and counseling, military sexual trauma counseling, bereavement counseling, and marital and family counseling. Wall’s days and hours may be adjusted as the need for services grow. To schedule a confidential appointment, contact her at (918) 628-2760.

Below are the eligibility requirements to receive the services, some of which may require a referral to another counselor, but be assured, you will receive the assistance you need.
