EduMed ranking badgeOklahoma State University was named as one of the nation’s best schools for online degrees and certificates in the health care field going into 2024 by EduMed.org, which highlights programs based on overall quality, affordability and commitment to student success.

OSU’s RN to BSN program ranked in three EduMed categories, including Most Affordable RN to BSN Online Programs, Best Online RN to BSN Bridge Programs in Oklahoma and Most Affordable Online Nursing Programs. Just 6% of regionally accredited colleges and universities of the more than 7,700 analyzed earned a ranking position.

These rankings showcase schools giving future nurses and allied health professionals the best chance to succeed from day one in the classroom to day one on the job. Contributing factors to the nominations include low-cost tuition, academic counseling and career placement services, student-to-faculty ratio and total of school-based financial aid.

“We continuously strive to provide the best educational experience for our students as we prepare them to excel in their practice at the BSN level,” said Dr. Alana Cluck, director of nursing in OSU’s School of Community Health Sciences, Counseling and Counseling Psychology.

“We want them to succeed and consider it a privilege to be a part of their educational journey.”

EduMed’s rankings come at a time when the demand for trained health care professionals is on the rise. According to Mercer, a global consulting leader in health care, the U.S. will see millions of vacancies in critical health care positions by 2025. Nurse practitioner, nursing assistant and home health aide roles stand to experience some of the greatest shortages over the next three years and beyond.

OSU’s RN to BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and can be completed in as little as 9-12 months.

Applications are currently being accepted for spring 2024. The preferred application deadline for summer/fall 2024 is Feb. 1, but applications submitted after that date will be considered for admission.
