OSU's Tyler Ley named Most Influential in Concrete Industry

Tyler Ley’s passion for concrete and lack of fear has propelled him into the spotlight of his industry. Ley, professor of civil and environmental engineering at OSU, has even been named among the Most Influential People in the Concrete Industry by Concrete Construction Magazine.
Ley has published over 200 educational videos on his YouTube channel that have been viewed more than 533,000 times from more than 7,700 subscribers. His channel is about concrete, “the greatest material in the world.”
“I am passionate about concrete,” Ley says on his YouTube introduction. “I think concrete is one of the most underappreciated wonders and I am excited about helping others learn about it.”
Ley has received numerous awards during his tenure including the Halliburton Excellent Young Teaching Award in 2011 and 2014, the Williams Foundation Professor in 2013 for the College of Engineering, the ACI Walter P. Moore Faculty Achievement Award in 2014, the Researcher of the Year Award from the College of Engineering in 2014, the OSU Regents Research Award in 2014, the ACPA Martin J. Knutson Award in 2017 and was named the outstanding professor at a research university by the Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence in 2018.
