This summer, Oklahoma State University Global traveled to Bali, Indonesia, to unite OSU graduates from around the world for an international alumni reunion.
The reunion drew over 60 accomplished alumni, family and OSU administrators from the U.S., Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Bangladesh. The Edge Resort, owned by 1992 Spears School of Business graduate Rosan Roesalani, hosted the event and provided a gorgeous backdrop for reminiscing and forging connections.
"We could not have asked for a more successful reunion in Indonesia. The year of planning paid off in the form of reminiscing and celebrating our shared love for OSU," said Dr. Randy Kluver, associate provost and dean of OSU Global. "It was a fantastic experience, and we aspire to continue this tradition for the thousands of OSU alumni worldwide."
Before coming together at the resort, alumni explored Ubud — a culturally rich town on the island of Bali — immersing themselves in its heritage. Closing the weekend at the resort allowed the alumni to relax and reflect on the impact OSU had on their lives.
The event's resounding success underlines OSU Global’s commitment to nurturing strong international alumni relationships. By the end of the event, the international attendees had started discussions of how to continue the tradition next year. OSU Global aspires to replicate the reunion in other regions around the world where OSU graduates reside.
"Enhancing the strong relationship with our international alumni is incredibly important," OSU Provost Jeanette Mendez said. "It was an honor to attend this event and see firsthand the institutional loyalty and pride our international students maintained after graduating."
OSU Global’s dedication to maintaining connections with university alumni allows these relationships to serve as bridges, connecting diverse perspectives and advancing knowledge across borders.
