Oklahoma State University Panhellenic Council honored

Friday, August 28, 2015

Oklahoma State University’s Panhellenic Council was recently recognized as one of the top scoring groups for achievement by the National Panhellenic Conference and was selected as a recipient of the National Panhellenic Conference College Panhellenic Achievement Award.

The award recognizes the success of the OSU’s Panhellenic Council in upholding the values and ideals of a Panhellenic. College Panhellenics, which are cooperatives comprised of all sororities on a campus, are scored on seven criteria, including those of value to college campuses such as academics, programming and community relations.

For more than 50 years, NPC, one of the largest advocacy organizations for women, has honored College Panhellenics annually for excellence or achievement. With organizations located at more than 672 U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities, only the top scoring groups are bestowed with this honor. This year only 43 colleges and universities received this distinction.

“It is extremely humbling to receive this achievement award from National Panhellenic Conference,” Lindsay Gabler, OSU Panhellenic Council president, said. “We try to the best of our ability to make our Panhellenic community better and to leave a legacy. This award couldn't have been achieved without the help of the past Panhellenic executive council’s hard work, our Panhellenic community and our outstanding advisor, Ann Reightler.”

Like all College Panhellenics, OSU’s Panhellenic Council exists to develop and maintain sorority life and interfraternal relations, including programming efforts and leadership development. The council oversees 13 NPC groups represented on the OSU campus. To learn more about OSU’s Panhellenic Council, visit gogreek.okstate.edu/panhellenic-council.
