OSU/A&M Board of Regents approve new dean for global studies

Oklahoma State University is inviting nominations and applications for the new position of Dean, School of Global Studies and Partnerships. The position, approved by the OSU/A&M Board of Regents during its regular meeting today, will report to the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The dean will lead the university’s continued development, implementation and coordination of global education including international trade, education, engagement, development and outreach and will be responsible for the development of strategies for enhancing the university’s strengths and reputation as a leader in global education.
“As a land-grant institution, one of the three main areas of our mission is outreach and as our society continues to be more global, international leadership becomes more important to achieving that mission,” said OSU Provost Dr. Gary Sandefur.
OSU became a leader in international development during the 1940’s when U.S. President Harry Truman selected Oklahoma A & M’s president Henry Bennett to lead the Point 4 Program now known as USAID.
This position will be a member of the OSU Council of Deans and will serve as the chief academic, business and fiscal officer of the School of Global Studies and Partnerships.
