Renter’s fair offers housing resources for students

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Explore local rental options, get answers from experts and qualify to win door prizes at the annual Renter’s Fair, Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The fair is free and open to the public.

“Renter’s Fair is an opportunity to consider possible choices for next year’s living arrangements,” said Traci Sheehan, graduate teaching assistant and fair coordinator with the Off Campus Student Association, the host of the event. “You’ll also find plenty of resources to provide the information you need to make an educated decision.”

Students are invited to meet with several representatives from off-campus housing, the City of Stillwater, and Legal Aid Services at the fair. Various service providers, including about 30 landlords and property management companies will also be on hand.

Visit at least three booths and qualify for the opportunity to win some amazing door prizes, such as a Fitbit Charge, Globe Long Board, PowerBeats2 Wireless headphones, Dell Venue 8 Pro Tablet and a GoPro HERO4. Renter’s Fair is open to the public.

Since 1978, Renter’s Fair has provided resources for students who choose to live off-campus. Off Campus Student Association is always available to answer questions about leases, landlords, living off campus for the first time or finding rental properties. The organization can also help students review their leases and decipher important details.

Off Campus Student Association is an organization for students who attend Oklahoma State University and live in a residence off the campus.  It offers renting/leasing information for all students while members contribute recommendations to better the environment around the city of Stillwater and the OSU campus. For questions or more information, contact Traci Sheehan at traci.sheehan@okstate.edu.
