Faculty and Staff Recognized for Service

Faculty and staff members were recently recognized at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences for their service and dedication to the profession of veterinary medicine.

The following faculty members were recognized for holding endowed faculty positions and playing a vital role in ensuring the success of students, the Veterinary Medical Hospital, and the University:

Melanie Boileau, DVM, MS, DACVIM—LA, holds the McCasland Clinical Professorship. Boileau is a board certified food animal internal medicine and surgery specialist and an associate professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Her interests include small ruminants and camelid medicine and critical care of sick neonates.
Daniel Burba, DVM, DACVS, holds the McCasland Professorship in Biomedical Laser Surgery. Burba is a board-certified equine surgeon and the interim head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. His research and clinical interests include orthopedics and laser cribbing surgeries.
Danielle Dugat, DVM, MS, DACVS—SA, holds the Cohn Family Chair for Small Animals. Dugat is a board-certified small animal surgeon and an assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Her research interests include cervical intervertebral disk herniation, chronic wound healing and orthopedics and mechanical stressors placed on materials or bones.
Jerry Malayer, MS, PhD, holds the McCasland Foundation Endowed Chair in Food Animal Research. Malayer is the associate dean of research and graduate education and a professor in the Department of Physiological Sciences. His research focuses on infectious disease processes, diagnostics, therapeutics and mitigation at the cell and molecular level.
Ashish Ranjan, BVSc, PhD, holds the Kerr Foundation Endowed Chair. Ranjan is an associate professor in the Department of Physiological Sciences. His research interests include nanocarrier mediated targeting drug delivery, image guided therapy, and nanotoxicology.
