OSU Wins Quiz Bowl at National Conference

Congratulations to Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences’ Quiz Bowl Team for placing first out of nine teams competing at the Society for Theriogenology Conference held recently in Fort Collins, Colo.
Competing for the first time, the Quiz Bowl Team included: Jo Eike (’18), Michelle Shaw (’18), and Nikki Collins (’20) with Jesse Jenny (’19) as the alternate. Sponsored by Merck, the competition tests the reproductive knowledge of veterinary students and consists of questions covering theriogenology in all species. Each team member won a therio related textbook of their choice and $300 for the center’s SFT Chapter.
Also attending the conference were the center’s board certified theriogenologists, Drs. Reed Holyoak and Candace Lyman, and two theriogenology residents, Drs. Katie Hornberger and Julia Baldrighi.
In addition to the Merck Student Quiz Bowl, Jenny (’19) and Collins (’20) each presented a poster during the conference. Baldrighi also presented a poster and Hornberger passed her board certification examination while at the conference. Passing the certifying examination will lead to diplomate status within the American College of Theriogenologists.
