The Peterson Charts
Tuesday, February 2, 2016
The late Dr. Duane R. Peterson is well known at Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. Peterson gave the first lecture on March 1, 1948, when the then Oklahoma A&M College opened Oklahoma’s only School of Veterinary Medicine. He went on to teach anatomy for the next 38 years retiring in 1986.
Among his many contributions to the profession of veterinary medicine is a collection of hand-drawn anatomical charts made by Peterson. The charts have been digitalized and are available for online viewing at http://dc.library.okstate.edu/cdm/search/collection/Peterson/order/date/ad/asc.
During the college’s 60th anniversary, the Dr. Duane R. Peterson Anatomy Learning Center was dedicated in his honor, permanently etching his legacy in the OSU Center for Veterinary Health Sciences.
