Grissett joins OSU Veterinary Center

Monday, July 1, 2019

Oklahoma State University’s Center for Veterinary Health Sciences has hired Jeremiah Grissett as a full-time counselor and wellness coordinator.

“Jeremiah will serve as the counselor for our veterinary students,” said Dr. Margi Gilmour, associate dean for academic affairs. “He will learn what common concerns they have and will be able to provide timely and useful information within the curriculum and in seminars that will be beneficial for our students.

“As our wellness coordinator, Jeremiah will play a critical role in supporting and directing initiatives that focus on the well-being of the entire veterinary center community,” she added.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Grissett earned a bachelor’s degree from Oral Roberts University and a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Oklahoma State University. A licensed marriage and family therapist, he is currently pursuing a doctorate in human development and family science from OSU. Prior to joining OSU, Grissett worked as an outpatient mental health therapist in Stillwater.

“I am excited to come on board at OSU’s veterinary college,” said Grissett. “I see veterinarians as important and outstanding members in their communities, and I find it a great honor to serve the students in a supportive role as they work so hard to fulfill their dreams of becoming veterinarians. I am eager to begin my work with the students alongside such a great faculty and staff team.”

To reach Grissett, call 405-744-6745 or email vetmedpsyc@okstate.edu. His office is in Room 162 of McElroy Hall on the OSU-Stillwater campus.
