Spears alumnus Healey builds real estate investment firm 20 years after unique OSU experience

From Detroit to Stillwater, Damon Healey’s OSU journey reinforced his love for entrepreneurship. Twenty years later, the Spears Business graduate uses that experience to run Eternal Companies, his commercial real estate investment firm.

For the first time, Oklahoma State University Spears School of Business students are participating in the Technion Multi-Cultural Team Project (TMCTP) during the fall 2022 semester as part of upper-level entrepreneurship courses taught by Craig Watters, associate clinical professor in the School of Entrepreneurship and executive director of the Riata Institute for Global Social Entrepreneurship.

Rachel Cameron, a young actress and entrepreneurship student, made her way to Stillwater after filming a movie in Yukon, Oklahoma. The Dallas native spent a month and a half in Oklahoma on the set of “Treasure Lies,” a faith-based movie about a hardworking teenage boy who wins the lottery and faces a crisis of character where Cameron plays the love interest. It was her time spent shooting when she fell in love with the state of Oklahoma and decided to attend OSU.

In 1949, Josey Mayes’s great grandfather, Joe Nevins, opened Nevins Concessions at the Texas State Fair with 40 booths selling the classics: cheeseburgers, cotton candy and fried chicken. Today, Mayes and her family still own and run the business and are being featured on a new A&E reality TV series.

Mitchell Berenson left corporate medicine in 2008 with the goal of creating strong IV infusion programs in rural hospitals. His company, Infusion Solutions, now works with 40 hospitals in 22 states, and, with the help of OSU’s entrepreneurial program, he’s launched a new product that could revolutionize in-home infusion treatment.
