OSU entrepreneurs present winning business plans

The COVID-19 pandemic couldn’t prevent Oklahoma State University student entrepreneurs from competing in and winning awards in a virtual 2020 Love’s Entrepreneur’s Cup and finishing in the top four of an international college business plan competition through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which also featured teams competing remotely.

Spears Business students named Outstanding Seniors

Five seniors from the Spears School of Business have been named 2019-2020 Outstanding Seniors by the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association. The Outstanding Senior award recognizes seniors who show excellence through academic achievement, campus and community involvement, academic, athletic or extra-curricular honors, scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.

Students claim $45,000 in prize money in Riata Business Plan Competition

The Oklahoma State University School for Entrepreneurship and the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship have named winners of the annual student competition to create business startups at the event finals Jan. 31. The Riata Business Plan Competition at the Spears School of Business promotes entrepreneurship and small business development by focusing on student created, managed and owned ventures.

Student entrepreneurs continue winning ways

Oklahoma State University student entrepreneurs Rabecca Wiseman and Brooks Robison have been named semifinalists in the ASU Innovation Open 2020 business pitch competition, which offers $300,000 in prize money to collegiate business startups. Wiseman, a master’s student in civil engineering, and Brooks, an MBA student in the Spears School of Business, continue to win top-tier business plan competitions with their technology startup, Contraire.

OSU Medicine student named to first national liaison role

The Association of American Indian Physicians has named an OSU Medicine student to serve as the first osteopathic medicine liaison for the Association of Native American Medical Students. Brandon Postoak, a second-year medical student at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, was appointed to a one-year term as liaison with the goal of encouraging more Native Americans to consider careers in medicine and other health professions.
