Jacek Tyminski honors former professor with Richard C. Powell Graduate Fellowship

Dr. Jacek Tyminski was all alone in 1979, having traveled more than 5,000 miles from Elblag, Poland, to Stillwater. He was a refugee, coming to OSU to pursue his Ph.D. because of deteriorating conditions in his home country. Arriving at Oklahoma State University, he felt completely disoriented, with no connections and no direction. But thanks to the kindness of physics professor Dr. Richard Powell, Tyminski soon found a family.
Inaugural CAS Golf Scramble a big hit at Karsten Creek

The spring of 2022 had Oklahoma State University alumni and friends swinging at the inaugural College of Arts and Sciences Golf Scramble hosted by CAS at the scenic Karsten Creek Golf Club just outside of Stillwater. The event raised funds for the Dean’s Excellence Fund, which helps to provide student scholarships.

Facing COVID unknowns, CAS finds order, innovation and progress in meeting challenges

When OSU initially shifted its classes online for two weeks following 2020’s spring break, most thought things with the still-new coronavirus would resolve and in-person classes would resume in plenty of time for finals. Instead, courses remained virtual, and OSU faculty, staff and students finished the semester from home.
